Greetings and welcome to all visitors!

Here's a quick intro: I'm an author writer who sprinkles interesting, credible medicine into the background of my medical fiction novels. You'll learn a few things, good and bad, from my operating room scenes because I specialized in Anesthesiology. However, my vivid characters and plots take center stage.
My first book, Operation Neurosurgeon, is also a romantic suspense novel and Outcome, a Novel is also a general and historical fiction novel.
Another thread you'll find in my writing is dogs.  There will be at least be one as a main character, especially since I own a few and one is the star of my children's book series called Chester the Chesapeake. Chester is actually the dog in my best seller Operation Neurosurgeon, who is renamed Dakota. Two of the hilarious Dakota scenes actually happened.
For those of you who know me, you're aware I'm a very active person. On the next page I have a nonfiction health book for those of us over fifty. It's lay person friendly with medical advice and my own pearls on how to keep fit. I practice what I preach.
I have an update, too, for the fans of Operation Neurosurgeon. I'm working on the follow up book, so I'll keep you posted here about my progress with Dr. Danny, Casey, Dakota, etc. It's the end of May and I'm more than half way through the first draft. Remember Rachel? There are some interesting things going on with her. But worse yet, a severe medical epidemic has taken root at Danny's hospital.

Enjoy my books, thanks for exploring my website, and feel free to contact me on the contact page with feedback (or even if you have something to add towards the book I'm working on).

From the PR Buzz Press Release Wire  ---"Best Selling Books for 2012 - Medical Mystery
Chicago, IL (PRBuzz) July 10, 2012 -- "Best Selling Books' blog today announced its top ten list of medical mystery novels. The annual list derives its roster of bestsellers from a number of sources that include Amazon and Goodreads.com. Readers' ratings, reviews, and title sales data are used to formulate a blended score that creates each book's final rank.  After the first bestseller, Operation Neurosurgeon: You never know ... who's in the OR by Barbara Ebel, M.D. was listed as the top finalist."

Review:  Red Adept Reviews (The Critical, In-Depth eBook Reviewer)
Overall Review:  4 1/2 STARS out of 5.   "Operation Neurosurgeon is a marvelous story about the rise and fall   of a fictional neurosurgeon in Nashville, TN
Plot/Storyline: 4 3/4 STARS.    "Operation Neurosurgeon was a cautionary tale of how one man's momentary    lapse in judgment led to his downfall and the devastating effects on his family. Danny Tilson was a good man and a good doctor, but, as his attorney told him later,"A man's downfall comes from his crotch."  ...."The ending of the story was well done and was very satisfying."
Characters: 5 STARS  "Although the story was largely plot-driven, there were several well-developed char-
acters...  One of my favorite characters was Dakota, a Chesapeake Retriever who had a personality
all his own.

What if, through no fault of your own,  you become
ill and need an organ transplant?

Who's going to come to your rescue when you're
put under a bad surgeon's knife?

Reviews:

5 STARS

It's hurricane season and Hurricane Ivan is bearing down on Karen Puno as she scrambles to flee to safety with her Labrador Retriever.  But that's only the beginning of her troubles.  Then there is the problem of harvesting organs for transplant and a cascading medical crisis, two teenagers discovering love amidst a hurricane's destructive course, and the fate of a battered dog almost crushed by the hurricane's debris.

A unique work of fiction by a master storyteller, "Outcome" is a deftly written novel that will engage the reader's total attention from beginning to end, making it highly recommended.

Beautiful story of the ultimate gift

I really enjoyed this book. There were several story lines that came together beautifully. This story is a testament to organ donation and the lives it can touch. From those who have lost a loved one, to those that are given the miracle of life through that devastating loss.
I really liked the characters, except one that shall remain nameless, as well as the intensity of the situations they find themselves in. The technical scenes in this book were written so brilliantly, that I would not be surprised to learn that the author, Dr. Barbara Ebel, was a trained pilot as well as an anesthesiologist. I came to really care about the characters in this book and feel with them as well as for them. Okay. I'll admit it. I cried.
This book has something for everyone in it, even dog lovers. I'm not going to tell you anything about Whiskey/Putt-Putt/Sandy. I want this very touching part of the book to unfold for you as it did for me.
